Drip Coffee

Brew time: under 5 minutes

Brewing coffee is an art form that requires a delicate balance of precision and intuition. As the steam rises from the kettle, the water cascades gracefully over the freshly ground beans, releasing their aromatic essence. The tantalizing scent fills the air, awakening the senses and inviting anticipation. With patience and expertise, the water transforms from a clear liquid to a rich, golden elixir. Each drop holds the stories of countless hands that have nurtured and cultivated the coffee beans, from their humble origins on a distant farm to the cups of grateful coffee lovers. Brewing coffee is a ritual, a moment to pause and savor the simple pleasure of a perfectly crafted cup.

What you’ll need

1 x Filter

1 x Timer

350g boiling water

Gather your supplies: Make sure you have all the necessary equipment ready. You'll need a drip coffee maker, coffee filters, freshly roasted coffee beans (medium grind), and clean, filtered water.

Measure the coffee grounds: The standard ratio for drip coffee is about 1 to 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds per 6 ounces of water. You can adjust this based on your taste preferences.

Prep the coffee maker: Open the top of your drip coffee maker and place a paper coffee filter in the basket. Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any papery taste and preheat the carafe with hot water to keep your coffee hot for longer.

Add coffee grounds: Scoop the measured coffee grounds into the filter basket. Level them out for even extraction.

Add water: Pour the clean, filtered water into the water reservoir of your coffee maker. Be sure to use the correct amount of water based on the number of cups you want to brew.

Start the brewing process: Close the lid of the coffee maker and turn it on. The water will be heated and then dripped evenly over the coffee grounds, allowing the coffee to extract slowly and evenly.
